So with the front-facing camera on the device, it is going to automatically scan and verify your identity to the device. iOS 12’s Face ID Coming in a New Height
Apple’s new technique of Face ID authentication was with limits to single-face recognition ever since the release of iPhone X happened. Although this is good for the privacy of the device in the purpose of sharing, this was troublesome at some areas. In fact, the restriction here for single user-face ID support was frustrating for some users who like to give their family, partner or anyone else to unlock the Phone on their own. And it looks like soon happening whereas Apple’s latest iOS 12 looks with its own plans there.
As to the all recent and reliable confirmations on iOS 12 Features, we come to know the “multi-user support” for Face ID as “Alternative Appearance” to manually activate from the Face ID settings. So if for a certain reason you want someone else to unlock your iPhone or want to use something like a mask to unlock, this will be useful.
